What better way to start our blog for M a, than with a tribute to Dr. Alex Moulton, one of England's most inspirational inventors.

Not only was he responsible for designing the suspension for the Mini car, one of the most enduring symbols of British engineering, but he designed and built what must be the most beautiful bicycles ever made, from their factory deep in the English countryside.

This year Moulton Bicycles introduced the lightest and in our opinion, the most beautiful of all their bicycles, the Moulton Esprit.

Since moving to Kyoto, we have become very friendly with the wonderful folks at Moku 2+4 whose owner, Motoyuki Hayashi is something of a genius himself, serving customers from all over Japan, as well as from Korea & Taiwan. His love of Moulton bicycles and the Mini car reminds us that intelligent design is truly something which can bring so much passion and joy even this far from home.
