here's a pic from last friday! was blessed to get my copy of "silver vibration" signed!
great gig from Roy that started with "we live in brooklyn baby" and touched dancefloor moments like "can't you see me" and "running away" as well as superclassics like "everybody loves the sunshine"....class!
unfortuantely he didnt aswer to Mat's request for "poo poo lallah", so i guess we'll have to play that at Garage Paradise.....aight!
oooh, and Luca killed it with some G.Q. pressure!!!
Tonite big event in Modena: Roy Ayers live!
I never heard him play live before and is really one of my favourite artists [I like also this 80s LP...the tune Wake Up is real cool, and a great cover too].
I have the chance to spin some records after the gig thanx to my friend Luca ltj experience Trevisi, who has been definetly one of the ones to spread Roy's music in Italy. Sure we'll have some fun tonite djing together...expect some Olive Sain, Leroy Burgess, Peven Everett, Chaka, Manfredo Fest, Prince, Ron Trent, Jackson 5 all thrown in!
check Luca's store for some wax pressure:

I remember being at Atlas records in London in 1998 and loosing it listening to a couple of releases from PEOPLE records. reading on the label Global distribution, was clear for me that the obvious distribution channel for the newly born ARCHIVE label had to be that one. after going there to meet up the guys and hearing that they were starting a new company called GOYA I kept working with them for all these years [also with Neroli]. now the bad times in music have forced them to close down, wich is a real shame and a big loss for all the music heads. it's an end of an era, and hopefully a beginning of a new one for all of us! all I know is that part of that music will stay!!!!
my best wishes to Mike and Spencer and a thank you for all those great years!!!!
Reincarnation, the record label project I work with Luca Benini and Slam Jam, has its third release ready to drop this week! At Jazz has come out with a killer sounding house track that has a lot of elements reminding me of old Prescription records but with a modern twist! I love the Dub mix!
shouts to Luca and Andrea @ Slam Jam and the Rush Hour crew!!!
