I hardly suggest anything else but music related things in this blog, but while I'm here updating I thought to give a hint to check the Miracle At St. Anna movie, directed by Spike Lee. One of my favourite movies of the year, and I'm pretty sure will be released on DVD soon...great great vision!
Reincarnation records is a project I have been doing with Luca at Slam Jam since more than a year now. With the help of some likeminded artists and Andrea aka DJ Hendrix, we are reaching now the 7th release [watch out for the baad raw ep from MFOR] and its time for a limited edition mix cd. Alex from Tokyo, responsible for our first release, join us again to mix it, and its a real trip! Here a little preview of the great design by Gabriele at Slam Jam. Soon....

few more weeks....
Dev Paradox was one of the first persons I met in London hanging out in december 1998 at the infamous Reinforced studios in Dollis Hill. Met him and Leke few times around London and in clubs and our friendship started and brought us to do even few tracks for Archive, 2000 Black and Rush Hour. So many good memories, but I especially like to think at one of his first live sets at Pergola when I was dropping 2 minutes interludes while he was loading the new song on the AMIGA!!!!
Hundreds and hundreds of live shows after and he is still the best programmer on the scene...a proper dum'n bass drummer!!!
Check his new projects here http://www.paradoxmusic.com/ and dont miss his interviews, always amusing...
If you dj and want to keep a dancefloor happy with class, check the Super Value series. The second 12" just dropped and I have been playing the Curtis Mayfield rework of 'Love Me Love Me' with excellent results.
Be on the lookout for these secret edits from Italy....
I must say I have a soft spot for D.J. Rogers...when it comes to soul music, he is really one of my favourites! Such a distinctive voice, and a few cuts to spin for the djs too!
I think he is a classic example of an artist who has been overlooked for too long. So I highly suggest to investigate his catalogue!
So the weekend arrived and the mother of all Garage Paradise parties too: Sadar in Bologna! It was absolutely great to see all these people getting down to heavy disco all night, and to see all our friends loosing it!
I must say when it comes to disco you really cant touch Sadar, he is just on another leve!
And some lucky ones have even the recording of the night...
Friday I went ot see Rich Medina in Mantova at the Moxa club. He was djing with Harley and Muscle [always spinning great deep house] and as usual I enjoyed the music he played [Charme!!!] and his company. Great great guy and I hope to see him more often here in Italy....maybe an afro beat party?
Here is a picture of the new installation at Moxa done by none other than Maround's MAT!
Tyler might have already mentioned this, but we are happy to welcome back Gino Grasso from his record hunting trip in NYC.
Together with Federico Grasso [infamous soul-brother], 'il Dottore' and Achille he traveled across the big apple searching for vinyl nuggets.
Here is a picture of Gino rocking MFT party with his boogie selection...second to none!
SADAR BAHAR from Soul In The Hole crew (Chicago) is back in Italy this coming weekend.
We'll play together at Lokomotiv in Bologna for our Garage Paradise party.
Last time he came he was absolutely great showing how to throw a set of disco and boogie!
Hopefully I will be able to post a recording of the night in the next weeks...
Been a bit slack lately with the update, hopefully I will catch up in the next weeks.
Alex Attias aka Mustang was here last weekend. He came to play at Suono with me, Andrea, Luca and the Pasta Boys for the first Reincarnation party. Enjoyed the music as usual but was especially good to have the chance to see him. Missed the good old afternoons in Maida Vaile checking tunes, chatting and drinking tea.
