I want to take this month to say a big thanks to everyone who's been supporting the show, sending tracks and telling friends. As life gets increasingly busy its been harder to do our regular parties, so the radio show is my salvation. One person that definitely deserves an extra thanks is Akihiro Yamamoto, who has been behind the scenes helping me put this effort together since day 1. In his honor, I have posted the FM version featuring his vocal stylings (respect for bailing me out this month!).
With that said, there's a ton of great new music. The group I am most excited about is Electric Wire Hustle out of New Zealand. Their forthcoming LP is rock solid. Also check the new Ursula Rucker joint produced by recent BK transplant Dego, and the continued pressure from the Super Value boys. Also new LPs to look out for from Robert Glasper and Sabrina Malheiros on the way.
Alright, back to work.

I know you've been dying for Ian Wright updates... Well in addition to constantly being 'the man', he has just finished a really exciting campaign for Saks Fifth Avenue. In all seriousness, this is a big move, and its great to see our friend in the spotlight (following last season's Shepard Fairey-designed campaign). Look out for his illustrations and doodles gracing everything from shopping bags to window displays. You want it? You got it.

Other than Dam Funk, one album that has been dominating my playlist is the debut LP from New Zealand's Electric Wire Hustle. Check the new radio show and stay tuned. Artwork by the talented Jeff Docherty.

Tavi, the 13 year old blogger, is actually kind of amazing.
Visit Style Rookie and be sure to check the video blogs.
Here's a rap she made about Rei Kawakubo.

You probably already know this, but Dam-Funk's debut album "Toeachizown" on Stones Throw is about the best thing around right now. I can listen to this dude all day. Check it out on CD, digital or 5xLP.
I'm also eally excited about an upcoming project that we've got Dam involved with. More news to come soon.
In the meantime, go cop one of his Funk Tsunami t-shirts in cooperation with Stussy.

Great profile on Anna Wintour and the making of Vogue Magazine. Check it.

I had the honor of selecting one of my favorite images from the Art+Commerce library-- one of the best photo agencies in the world-- for their image of the day. Shout out to Frank V.

Raf Simons first print advertisement has a Francis Bacon vibe. Sick.

I like the look of the new Kim Jones for Dunhill available at Opening Ceremony (check out the Tokyo shop just opened last week).
You can also preview the collection on the extensive Flickr blog Self Service.

Next month sees the release of Six Scents Series Two, an amazing project I'm lucky to be helping out with. Last year's inaugural series featured fragrances from the likes of Gareth Pugh and Bernard Wilhelm and was met with critical acclaim. This year boasts a new partnership with Givaudan, and a fresh crop of talent: Phillip Lim (No.1), Damir Doma (No.2), Henrik Vibskov (No.3), Henry Holland (N'4), Richard Nicoll (No.5), and Toga (No.6).
There will be launch events in NYC, Tokyo, Seoul, London and Hong Kong. Stay tuned.
Update: check the Dazed & Confused review here.

I'm really feeling the whole world that is Band of Outsiders, including their polaroid art direction and recent collaboration with Sperry shoes. Go explore their blog.

The ping pong thing has officially blown up, in NYC at least. In addition to the new 13,000 sq foot table tennis club SPiN just opening, Fred Perry just released a paddle set and K-Swiss recently hosted a tournament. And now Bing is getting involved with the action. Good thing we were invited.
