I finally got a chance to read the new book that chronicles the jazz dance scene in the UK and what became known as the 'acid jazz' scene. The book which was recently released by a newly-formed Chaser Publications pieces together a verbal history form creators like Gilles Peterson, Paul Murphy, Russ Dewbury, Paul Bradshaw etc.
The early and mid 90s London jazz/abstract movement influenced me particularly as a teenager and gave birth to labels like Talkin' Loud, Dorado and Mo' Wax and to Straight No Chaser magazine. Check Gilles' podcast with the author Snowboy here.
